How to Install MooLux 6.0 to SSD / Hard Drive (Calamares GUI & CLI Installer)
Written by Djair (MooLux Project)
Dual Installer Options in MooLux 6.0
MooLux 6.0 provides two streamlined installation paths for internal drives (NVMe, SATA SSD, HDD), both fully supporting UEFI (ESP) and Legacy BIOS (bios_grub) partitioning:
1. Graphical Installer (Calamares) 1. Boot into **MooLux GUI Desktop** (the default first option in GRUB). 2. Click the **Install MooLux** icon on the desktop or launch it from the Cinnamon application menu. 3. Select your language, timezone, keyboard layout, and drive partitioning (Erase Disk or Manual Partitioning), then create your user account. 4. Complete the wizard and reboot into your installed system.
2. Terminal Installer (`moolux-install-cli`) For headless systems, minimal setups, or users who prefer a fast command-line workflow:
bashMooLux Terminal
sudo moolux-install-cliThe CLI installer guides you through disk selection, partition layout formatting, squashfs root filesystem unpacking, and automatic GRUB bootloader configuration.
