Understanding the 7-Layer Modular Architecture in MooLux 6.0

Written by Djair (MooLux Project)

From Monolithic Modules to Cumulative Layers

MooLux 6.0 transitions to a Modular Live Build architecture (moolux-build). Every layer is cumulative — selecting a build target like 005-office automatically compiles and includes layers 000 through 005.

bashMooLux Terminal
# Configure the target layer in moolux.conf
TARGET_LAYER="005-office"
./build.sh

Complete Overview of MooLux 6.0 Layers

  • 001-base: Essential daily CLI utilities (git, vim, nano, mc, htop, btop, fastfetch, rclone, tmux, build-essential, dkms, openssh-server).
